Graduate Resource and UK CEED are about to embark on a new Partnership to address the skills gap found in Peterborough to supply businesses focussed on the environment / sustainability. PEGS is a programme which aims to revive the city by bringing in young professionals (graduates) with the knowledge and skills that were once lost when youngsters move on to universities in other cities. The programme aims to support the Peterborough ‘EnviroCluster’ by identifying the skills needed for Peterborough to succeed as an Environment Capital. We hope to build a strong work force by bringing in high calibre environmental graduates with the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to drive forward new initiatives and policy.
Graduate Resource will provide a specialist recruitment service with an added training and support package to ensure that the graduates have the skills, knowledge and behaviour to do the job at hand. The idea is that a graduate will be based with an organisation for a six month period completing some form of sustainability focused project. This unique project aims to unite all the businesses involved in Peterborough by encouraging the graduates to network regularly through the provision of training workshops, events, Green Drinks, mentoring schemes, professional body qualifications and more.
